This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you access or use our website, mobile application(s), and related services (collectively, the “Services”). It also explains privacy rights available to U.S. residents, including California rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”).

3. Eligibility; COPPA Notice (18+ Only)

Our Services are intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (as defined by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)) or from minors under 18. If you believe a child or minor has provided us information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it and terminate the account.

4. Notice at Collection (Summary of What We Collect and Why)

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Identifiers (e.g., username, email, phone (if used), device identifiers, IP address)
  • Customer records / account data (e.g., profile details you provide)
  • Commercial information (e.g., League subscription status and transaction identifiers from Apple/Google)
  • Internet/network activity (e.g., app interactions, logs, diagnostics)
  • Geolocation data (approximate and/or precise, if enabled)
  • User-generated content (posts, comments, stories, messages, event listings)
    We collect and use this information to operate the app, provide local event discovery, enable social features and chat, administer League, show ads, prevent fraud/abuse, and comply with law.

5. Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you choose to provide, such as:

  • Account information: username, email and/or phone (as applicable), password, profile photo, bio, and similar details.
  • Social content: posts, comments, stories, reactions/likes.
  • Messages: communications sent through chat (and metadata like timestamps).
  • Events & League: event listings you create/join, team details, and score submissions/disputes.
  • Support: information you provide when you contact us.

6. Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Device & technical data: device model, OS, app version, language, device identifiers, IP address.
  • Usage data: features used, screens viewed, interaction patterns.
  • Logs & diagnostics: crash reports, performance and troubleshooting data, security signals.

7. Geolocation Data (Important)

Our Services use location to help users discover and post local sporting events. If you enable location permissions, we may collect approximate and/or precise geolocation. You can control location access through your device settings. If you disable location, certain features may not function properly.

8. Advertising, Analytics, and Similar Tracking

We may use advertising and analytics tools that collect or receive device identifiers and usage signals to:

  • display ads within the feed/wall,
  • measure ad performance (impressions/clicks),
  • limit fraud and abuse, and
  • understand how users engage with the Services.
    Your choices for targeted advertising and certain sharing are described in Sections 12 and 13.

9. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:
(a) provide and maintain the Services (including events, social features, chat, League);
(b) verify eligibility and enforce our Terms;
(c) administer League subscriptions and confirm paid access (via Apple/Google status);
(d) personalize local content and improve user experience;
(e) moderate content, investigate reports, prevent fraud, and protect platform integrity;
(f) communicate with you (service updates, support);
(g) improve security, performance, and reliability; and
(h) comply with legal obligations and protect rights and safety.

10. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers that help operate the Services (hosting, security, analytics, support).
  • Advertising partners for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.
  • Platform providers (Apple/Google) for subscription processing and verification.
  • Legal/safety recipients where required or appropriate (law enforcement requests, legal process, protecting users, enforcing Terms).
  • Corporate transactions (merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale), subject to appropriate protections.

11. Public Content and Social Sharing

The Services are social. Depending on your settings and actions, your profile and User Content (posts, stories, comments, event listings, team information) may be visible to other users and may be re-shared by them. Do not post information you consider private or confidential.

12. “Sale,” “Share,” and Targeted Advertising (CCPA/CPRA + State Opt-Outs)

We do not sell personal information for money. However, some disclosures to advertising partners for ad targeting and measurement may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or targeted advertising, under CCPA/CPRA and certain other state laws.

Your choices:

  • You may opt out of targeted advertising / “sale” / “sharing” by contacting us (Section 2).
  • Where we offer in-app controls, you can adjust ad-related settings.
  • You can also use device-level controls (e.g., limit ad tracking and reset advertising identifiers).

13. Sensitive Personal Information (CPRA)

Precise geolocation may be treated as Sensitive Personal Information under CPRA. We use it primarily to provide local event discovery and related location-based functionality. Where required, we provide choice through device permission prompts and honor applicable requests to limit use and disclosure consistent with law and functionality requirements.

14. Cookies and Tracking Technologies (Website)

Our website may use cookies/pixels and similar technologies for site operation, preferences, analytics, and advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality.

15. CCPA/CPRA: Categories, Purposes, and Disclosures (California Notice)

Categories collected (examples):

  • Identifiers (username, email/phone if used, device IDs, IP)
  • Internet/network activity (usage, logs)
  • Geolocation (if enabled)
  • User-generated content (posts, messages, event details)
  • Commercial information (subscription status and transaction IDs from Apple/Google)
  • Inferences (e.g., likely interests based on usage for content/ads personalization)

Purposes: described in Section 9.
Disclosures: described in Section 10, including potential “sale/share” for ad targeting/measurement described in Section 12.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you beyond what is necessary to provide the Services (location-based features) and to maintain security and integrity.

16. California Consumer Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:

  • Know/Access the personal information we collected, used, disclosed, and (if applicable) sold/shared.
  • Delete personal information (subject to legal exceptions).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information (Section 12).
  • Limit the use/disclosure of sensitive personal information (as applicable; Section 13).
  • Non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

17. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state, you may also have rights similar to access, deletion, correction, portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising. We will honor valid requests as required by applicable law.

18. How to Exercise Rights; Verification; Authorized Agents; Appeals

To exercise rights, contact us via Section 2 and specify your request. We may need to verify your identity (and your authority if acting as an authorized agent). Where required by law, you may have the right to appeal our decision; appeal instructions will be provided in our response.

19. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain safety and integrity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type. When you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify information consistent with law and our legitimate operational needs (e.g., security logs, fraud prevention, dispute records).

20. Security; Updates to This Policy

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect personal information; however, no system is perfectly secure. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and may provide additional notice if changes are material.
